My first Mothers Day
Well, my first Mothers Day would have been special enough just enjoying the blessing of Anna, but there were a few additional “perks” that made it extra-special.
We had baby dedication at church this morning, and both sets of grandparents made it to celebrate with us. Anna slept in David’s arms, curled up in a little wad, and didn’t make a peep. :-) She looked so sweet. We got some pictures afterwards—thank you, Becké, for taking them for us! I’ll just post one for now. Here’s Anna with all the “moms” in her life—Mammaw (my mom), Nana (David’s mom), Page (godmother), JoAnne (god-grandmother), and myself (the one who can feed her!)
David got the corsages you see in the picture, and a flower arrangement for me. It had birds of paradise—two big ones and one little one to symbolize our new family!
Then in the afternoon, David got busy and put on what is possibly his best grill-dinner yet for me, my parents, and his parents. He provided the details in his blog, so I’ll refer you there. I’ll just say the menu selection, preparation, and presentation just blew us all away! He really went all-out to make this a very special day. He’s wonderful!
After dinner, we went outside and David took some pictures. I had been disappointed that we hardly had any really good pictures yet. Well, he got some good ones!

Happy Mother’s Day Jennifer!!! I’m so happy for you!!! I know you and David are great parents and that Anna is a blessed little girl! I love all the pictures, they are super sweet!

Yeah, I’m not sure what was up with that. I think maybe she was trying to protect me from the evil camera.

i agree with your friend – i saw how much people charged for what they did, and i thought – i can do that.
black sheet. or plain background of some sort. picasa. photoshop. a good camera (i’m pining for one – maybe christmas!). and super close. go for the natural poses. camera handy. a million pics. all the advice you already got is spot on.
