The Birthday Bash

We had Anna’s 3-year birthday party this past Saturday. It was her first “friend” party and she had two little girls over, as well as all the grandparents.

We started with “stick the candle on the cake” (like “pin the tail on the donkey”):

And, while you’re at it, take a look at those curls!

Anyway… next was the stamp-a-bag craft. I borrowed foam stamps from a friend and bought fabric paint and canvas bags from Hobby Lobby:

And then the bean bag toss. I thought just tossing bean bags into a cardboard box with a hole in it might be kind of lame, so David fashioned a dog out of it (didn’t he do a great job?) and we played “feed the dog”:

By then, they were well warmed up to each other and an impromptu game of “Ring Around the Rosy” broke out. They giggled and had lots of fun:

Then, birthday cake and ice cream. Made-from-scratch cake and icing and Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream. Hey, we know how to eat around here.

I’ll post a video of her blowing out the candles when I figure out how.

And, finally, “fishing for favors”:

Too bad David missed that part… where did he disappear to, anyway? :)

All in all, I’d call the party a success!
