Bluebird Family
We apparently have a family of bluebirds in the vicinity. This may not seem like a big deal, but we don’t see them very much where we live. And I’ve never seen a baby one. It was white and brown speckled; it didn’t look anything like an adult. It was perched on the fence fluttering its wings with its little mouth open, waiting for the daddy to bring it food. It was so sweet! The mama was flying around too, but we didn’t see her as much. Thank you, David, for taking these pics!
UPDATE: There are at least three babies. This morning they were all perched on the fence having their breakfast! Here the mama is feeding the middle one. It’s hard to see in the picture, but the babies are starting to get some blue on their tail feathers.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures! They made me smile!
that is cool!
we have a hawk that hangs out on our fence.
he is scarier than the cute baby blue birds.
Our bluejay is huge but he’s quite aggressive – hope yours is friendlier!
Actually bluebirds are quite different from bluejays. You’re right–jays are aggressive!
