Walgreens—are you getting in on this?

If you haven’t been doing the Walgreens EasySaver program, this is a great month to get started. Some months there’s hardly anything, but this month they’re being VERY generous! I think this is the best one I’ve ever done!

Here’s what I’ve gotten so far:

  • 3 Pantene Pro-V products (shampoo, conditioner, hairspray)
  • 6 Garnier Fructis products (shampoo, conditioner, styling stuff)
  • Chemistry conditioner
  • Pert Plus shampoo
  • Nivea body wash
  • L’Oreal anti-wrinkle cream
  • Crest toothpaste
  • LypSyl lip moisturizer
  • Revlon nail polish
  • Walgreens acid controller
  • Visine
  • Excedrin
  • Walgreens brand “Brita” filter
  • 4 Glade products (candles, plug-ins)
  • 2-pack vacuum storage bags

And here’s how much I will have spent:

  • Nothing. Actually, I’m going to come out $2.60 ahead.

How’d I do it? Some stuff is obvious; the EasySaver catalog tells you it’s free after rebate. Other stuff is a little harder to see; you have to combine sales, rebates, register rewards, and coupons. And for that I credit Money Saving Mom (found through Jenny‘s blog). Of course, I must thank my bargain guardian angel, as Wendy says!

This almost makes up for all the picture frames we bought at Kohl’s last night with their 50-60% off sale and my extra 30% off coupon. We have so many digital pictures of our little cutie, but nothing on the walls. That’s about to change! Using free 4x6s, of course, which you can get through Snapfish, Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, and I’m sure many others.

Wow! How awesome is that! Way to go! That is incredible! Does it take a lot of time?

    That’s awesome!

I love when you sign up for a new picture site and you get free 4x6s… I admit that I have two accounts at Walmart.com so that I could get more free prints.

What a great post!! I so want to get in on all of those savings!! I just need to get a Jenny “double” to do it all. I’m always SO jealous when I see the list of things people have gotten cheap.

Well Jenny, you can be jealous of my shampoo, and I’ll continue to be jealous of your awesome photographs… :)

It does take a little time. You have to clip coupons, keep them organized, and look through the sale paper. But Money Saving Mom really helps; other people have done all the research for you. You just look to see if you have those particular coupons, and make a list. The rebate process itself is easy, because you submit one form with everything on it for the whole month.

If you don’t want to mess with coupons and such, you can just go at the beginning of the month and get the stuff that says “free after rebate.” This month there are 9! That’s not typical, though; usually there are about 2-5 I’d say.

Now I know why your hair is always so shiny! Seriously, though, this is a great idea, particularly with the holidays coming up soon. I know that Peter’s Pantry and Bethlehem House can ALWAYS use stuff like this, and that they like to make up boxes with toiletries for their clients for Christmas. Since we are so blessed as to be able to shop and get the rebates, it just makes sense to share the freebies!
