First Park Playday!

We took Anna to Laurel Park this afternoon to play. She’s been there before, but she was too little to do anything but sit in her stroller. This time was the first time we took her just for her, so she could play and have fun. And she did! She was all smiles the whole time! First we put her in the swing, then we let her climb around on the equipment and go down the slides with us, then back to the swing, then all the after-school kids showed up and Anna just watched everybody for a few minutes, then we headed home for a nap.

Every stage of this kid thing is fun—I loved the baby stage and I’ll miss it, but we’re going to have a blast playing at the park and doing all the new fun things she’s old enough to do now!

Since you can’t notice it in the photos, I’ll relate this story. As we were leaving, Jennifer commented on the fact that she was wearing her “Friend Of Conway Animal Shelter” t-shirt and I was wearing one of my Red Cross “Give Blood” t-shirts so we probably looked like a couple of social justice junkies.

And that photo of us on the slide – that’s happiness on her face and “my sunglasses are in the car” on my face.
