The Big Pool

I’m a couple of weeks late with this, but Anna finally got to swim in a “real” pool at the home of some church friends of ours. I didn’t know how she would react, but she loved it!

After a little while, Anna wanted out of that toddler boat, so we put her life jacket on her so she could move around in the water a little bit. The life jacket made her float on her back (maybe I need to look for a different kind), but surprisingly, she liked it anyway.

Jennifer, have y’all looked into baby swimming classes? If she likes the water that much & isn’t afraid, she’d be a prime candidate for them!

ok, when i first glanced at the title of this post, i thought it said “the big poo!” & i was like, um….??? but, upon further examination, i realized it said “the big pool” & then decided it was okay to look at the pictures that went with the story! ha, ha!

that’s odd that the jacket made her float on her back. i’ve never seen one do that before. if i can remember the kind that my niece & nephew use on the boat, i’ll let you know. and, yes, i agree with the above poster…she would be a great candidate for swimming lessons…check with your local ymca/ywca to see if they offer free ones! :)

It’s one of those life-saving life jackets, the kind that would keep you face up if you were shipwrecked and unconscious or something. The kind that you wear to go skiing would be great, but I’m not sure they make those in Anna’s size. The ones I’ve seen start at 30 pounds, but I haven’t spent a lot of time looking either. Maybe next year I can get an early start and find something that will work well for her.
