Big day of “firsts”
Anna had her first shopping trip today. We went to Target. We needed a few things, and I was dying to get out of the house at this point. She pretty much slept through the whole thing!
She also had her first bottle! I know they say wait at least 2-3 weeks, but hey, our child is advanced. :-) I think Daddy enjoyed getting the chance to feed her.
And finally, she had her first tub bath since her cord fell off a couple of days ago. She seemed to enjoy it a lot more than the sponge baths we had been giving her, although she hollered a bit when we got her out.
Good job on the bottle! (both of you) Ignore what they say about “nipple confusion” and the like. Both my girls did just fine with nursing and with bottles. If you wait too many weeks, the baby WON’T take a bottle. And if you think you want out of the house now… Pacifiers are fine, too. The occassional baby might get confused, but wait too long, and you’d better buy some earmuffs.
Yeah, I stuck a pacifier in that kid’s mouth by day 10!
Yeah, with J I thought we’d hold off on the paci as long as possible. He was born late Saturday evening and we lasted until, oh, sometime Tuesday. He kept dropping it, though, and we were absolutely relieved when he discovered this thumb.
It was sooo good to meet little Anna at church this morning. She’s even cuter in person:)
yea! outta the house! i know it’s so hard for a while – but you’ll be old pros soon!
oh, pacis! how i love thee. ours all had ’em in the hospital. and, well, you know my nursing story!
i got your announcement – absolutely beautiful!!
and 2 weeks for the cord to fall off?! lucky dogs! mine did it at like 6 weeks. ugh.
