So much to see!
Anna seems to like looking at things now, so I pulled out the play mat with all the little dangly things on it. I think she liked it!

I put Anna in her first 0-3 month sleeper yesterday. And it fit. Granted, it was one of the smaller ones, but still. Time to put away the newborn ones. I knew the newborn size wouldn’t last very long, but it’s still a little sad that she won’t ever wear those again.
And while we’re on the subject of clothes, what’s up with baby clothing sizes? The inconsistency is worse than women’s clothes! I can hold up two outfits, both 0-3 month, and one is tiny and one is huge. She has some 0-3 month outfits that are bigger than some of her 3-6 month outfits. I guess they start preparing little girls early for the hassle that lies ahead once they’re grown.
My dad built a boat.
My parents have this great property now with lots of land, a little lake, and a big workshop for my dad, and he’s in heaven. He named his creation the “AddieAnna” in honor of his two granddaughters—my brother’s child and mine. So here’s the big launch:
I told Anna that her Pappaw loves her very much and he named a boat after her, and not every Pappaw does that.
Anna had her first visit to church today. Here she is, all ready in her dress, supplied by her older cousin Addison:
We went to second service, but we got there before first service let out so we could show her off to everybody. We just camped out in the atrium and let her meet everyone. She was awake and alert before service during the meet-and-greet, then she fell asleep during church—perfect! About 15 minutes before the service was over she decided she was ready for some lunch (hey, who isn’t?) so we excused ourselves to the nursery to take care of that. Of course she then pooped, and while I was changing her, spit up all over herself (sorry Addison—we’ll wash the dress!). But all in all, it was a very good first visit to church.
Anna had her first shopping trip today. We went to Target. We needed a few things, and I was dying to get out of the house at this point. She pretty much slept through the whole thing!
She also had her first bottle! I know they say wait at least 2-3 weeks, but hey, our child is advanced. :-) I think Daddy enjoyed getting the chance to feed her.
And finally, she had her first tub bath since her cord fell off a couple of days ago. She seemed to enjoy it a lot more than the sponge baths we had been giving her, although she hollered a bit when we got her out.
Putting together the crib—isn’t that a rite of passage or something? Here’s David sharpening his skills, with Sasha supervising:
The finished product… ta-da!
Some memorable quotes:
“The directions are a bit lacking in this area.”
“I sure wish I knew where these things go.”
“Since I don’t know what to do with these… we’re done!”
Sounds like a true handyman to me!
Here’s my sweet baby niece, all ready to open presents in her Santa outfit! She’s about 5 1/2 months old.
