Recipe: Salsa
(This is very easy and waaaaay better than the stuff in the jars at the supermarket.)
- 1 28-oz. can tomatoes
- 1/4 large yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeno, finely chopped (remove some of the seeds if you like milder salsa)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 1/2 tsp. white vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. cumin
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, optional
Pulse tomatoes in blender until desired consistency. Pour into saucepan and add remaining ingredients. Simmer 15 minutes; let cool.
My husband makes terrific salsa and guacomole. Our son and I have to motivate him into it. And yes, I agree, the homemade stuff is better.
Happy MPM Day and St. Patrick’s Day.
It’s a beautiful spring day in Vegas. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Looks great. I am going to definitely have to try this recipe!
